Après de brèves études de piano, commence l’apprentissage de la guitare à l’age de 12 ans avec pour seuls professeurs les disques des Beatles , Django Elvis et autre Led Zep. Pendant plusieurs années, joue dans des groupes de Rock Rythm and Blues ou Rockabilly. Dans les années 90, intègre L’IMFP de Salon-de-Provence pour y étudier L’harmonie, la composition et l’improvisation . plusieurs masters classes avec Joe Diorio, Michel perez etc.…. Suite à cette expérience, il se consacre presque essentiellement au Jazz pendant plusieurs années notamment avec la formation Ut Trio qu’il fonde en compagnie du flûtiste Andréas Fanderl et du contrebassiste Stéphane Gachet, l’expérience durera plus de huit ans . s’en suivront divers trio ou quartet en tant que leader ou accompagnateur… Compose aussi de la musique pour le théâtre ou la danse...
Aujourd’hui, participe au groupe Just What We Love,( duo créé avec la Chanteuse Hélène Malka qui mêle standards de jazz et compositions personnelles) et aux lectures spectacle de la Cie des rêveurs.
Travaille actuellement sur de nouvelles compositions qui rassemblent ses influences et expériences diverses.

After studying briefly to play the piano, Al starts learning to play the guitar when he’s 12 years old, with teachers such as the Beatles’, Django’s, Elvis’, Led Zep’s and other’s discs.
For many years, he plays in rock, rythm & blues or rockabilly bands. In the 90’s, he studies harmony, composition and improvisation at IMFP in Salon de Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône, FRANCE).
Several master classes with Joe DIORIO, Michel PEREZ, etc… Deriving strength from this experience, Al dedicates himself almost exclusively to Jazz for many years, and starts, among others, the Ut Trio band with the flutist Andréas FANDERL and the double bass player Stéphane GACHET.
This will last for over 8 years. Then, Al plays with several trios or quartets, sometimes as the leader, sometimes as an accompanist…
He also writes music for theatre or dance shows…
Now, Al is a part of Just What We Love (duet with the singer Hélène Malka, they play jazz standard and personal compositions) and "La compagnie des rêveurs".
At the present time, he’s working on new compositions with all his different influences and experiences. |
