At the tender age of four I was already playing my first instrument : air trumpet ! ;-)
Then, three years later, I got my first real instrument : a small sized practice violin, fit for a little girl.
With a squeaking and screeching sound I learned to play all the notes of the C major scale on it...
From then on, every year I was able to show off my progress at family events and the public presentations of the music academy in Hasselt, where I took violin classes.
When I was about sixteen I gave up the violin, partly for lack of time to practice, but mainly because due to the extremely bad teaching methods I was subjected to I lost all interest and motivation.

Two years later I discovered the guitar...well, actually my dad's old cheapo nylon-string guitar that had been lying around the house for ages without being played.
Before I knew it, I was able to play the intro to Metallica's “Nothing Else Matters”, and it starts with all open strings, so I figured playing the guitar would be really easy... ;-)

Around the same time I met my boyfriend Guido Berckmans, a very accomplished guitar virtuoso who is actually a couple of centuries older than me... ;-)
He took me on a time trip through the history of rock and pop music, so eventually I developed a broad knowledge of and an interest in all those music styles that most people of my own generation know very little about.
He is also teaching me to play the guitar properly, closely following my continuously evolving tastes and interests.
By now, I've got my own gorgeously looking Epiphone cherry sunburst Les Paul Standard.

We started to write songs together : Guido writes the music and I add the lyrics and vocal melodies.
He also produces the recordings in our own little home studio.
My main influences are sixties and seventies pop and rock, and I do my best to absorb all the music theory that goes along with the guitar lessons, so in time I will try to write some songs all by myself.

Guido and I are already working on some more songs.
It may take another couple of weeks or months before the recordings are done, but don't worry, they will certainly show up here !
