About Me |
|
| It all started in 2005. Being involved into the music business (Soul Cookers Records), and as Funk addicts (listeners, collectors, selecters and activists through the Funk Food Family website and a few radio shows), it came quite naturally : the next step was to organize a festival entirely dedicated to the funkiest and dirtiest sides of jazz : what we call Hammond Funk and Raw Soul. Thanks to the support of the Mayor and the City Hall of Saint Paul Trois Châteaux, we had the first keys to start. But this would have never happened without the support and hard work of a crew of highly positive volunteers part of the association Emergence. The first festival took place in july 2006 with the folowing line up : James Taylor Quartet, Speedometer, Reverend Cleatus And The Soul Saviours, Stoned Soul Picnic and The New Mastersounds. In July 2007, James Taylor Quartet, Reverend Cleatus And The Soul Saviours, Stoned Soul Picnic and The New Mastersounds came back. Then we had more new bands like Fast 3, The Diplomats Of Solid Sound Feat The Diplomettes and Baby Charles. As you can imagine, It was a mega blast and sure our lovely town was the funkiest place on this planet over these 3 days. Doubtful ??? Have a look !!!
