Earl has recorded for an array of prolific producers on some of reggae’s most exceptional record labels, yet he remains to be one of the many underrated artists from the Roots & Dancehall era. Over the last decade, I have collected most of the records appearing on his discography. The majority of these are long out-of-print and quite difficult to obtain, and many of my own copies were located across the globe. The good news for reggae enthusiasts is that several Earl Cunningham 12”s and 7”s have been repressed over the last few years including the massive "Jail House", backed by the undisputed Roots Radics in their finest form. Many recordings, however, may go unheard indefinitely due to the over-priced eBay market, which has unfortunately managed to boost vinyl prices so high that only the most serious collectors are willing to indulge. In the meantime, enjoy the music... Sounds Like: Earl Cunningham's style is comparable in the ranks of other crucial JA singers who recorded during the late 70's/early 80’s dancehall era such as Al Campbell, Triston Palma, Anthony Johnson, Barry Brown, Earl 16, Michael Palmer, Wayne Jarrett, Delton Screechie, Sammy Dread and so forth.
