Amuke is a new Indie band that was formed in summer 2007, the band is centred around singer Petra Haas. Amuke’s music is a mixture of pleasant melancholy and defiant optimism. The five man band has a sensitive feeling for song structures, moods and dynamic arrangements. Above all the charismatic singing gives a special note to the diverse compositions. Singer Petra Haas, together with song writer and guitarist Andrej Ditaranto, has already celebrated success in contests and open airs with her former project Orange Marmalade. An absolute highlight was the victory in the Swiss final of the international Emergenza Contest and their appearance at the Taubertal Festival in Germany. Other appearances include Zurich (Volkshaus, Abart and Dynamo), Lucerne (Prix Walo final), Biel, Neuenburg (EXPO), Zug, St. Gallen, Constance, Singen and Karlsruhe. The band released a CD (Neon) and titles were played on several radio stations. After the split up of Orange Marmalade, Petra Haas and Andrej Ditaranto found the ideal members for the new band in Thomas Leuenberger (drums), Adrian Dahinden (bass) and Dietmar Schmid (guitar), all former members of the bands moonZoo and Mote.
