It's hard to find the right people for a band, and even harder to keep a band together. Being without a band to compose, perform and record with, Nico decided to try and write music for all instruments he felt needed to be a part of his music. The rapid developments in computer technology and software provided him with the means to extract the music as it exists in his mind. He therefore put the given instruments to use and started composing, guitar in hand, using the computer. By September 2007, only the song 'Resilient dream' was finished, the decision was made to start using the MySpace account, that was created a few months earlier, and get the music out into the world. The whole process of making friends was put into motion and it was at this point Nico was told about a female vocalist that was supposedly without a band. As vocals were the only thing missing from the music at that point a friend request was made to Madicken. Not long after that, Madicken contacted Nico to discuss the possibilities of working together. A few mail conversations and an accidental, first, meeting at a concert later Shallow faith had found it's vocalist. The beautiful, dynamic yet powerful vocals of Madicken are a perfect fit for the equally powerful and melodic music Nico composes. As for the name, 'Shallow faith' is by no means intended to have a religious reference. As Nico was thinking up a suitable band name to go with the lyrics he came across the following: Faith. The obligation of loyalty or fidelity to a person, promise, engagement, etc.: Failure to appear would be breaking faith. Shallow. Lacking depth; superficial: a mind that is not narrow but shallow. Shallow faith believes that we have an obligation, by birth, to life in general, to preserve and cherish the planet we live on and all its organisms. An obligation for we obviously lack the instinct that makes other creatures do so by nature. Despite our willingness to correct the wrongs we have done our planet, we're not really inclined to give up the privileges we have, especially in the light of our economic interests. So one could say we're rather shallow in meeting this obligation. So: Shallow faith. All our music is recorded at home and on top of that, all bass, keyboards and drums are made on the computer. The following songs, that are almost ready, are yet to appear here on MySpace: Liquid, The well (of human agression), Waves of wisdom and Lost glory. We are eager to start performing live so we would like to get in contact with a motivated, dedicated and experienced bass player and keyboard player / pianist.
