who play metalhardcorepunk in the world. I have known
Husker Du since 1991; it was the first time i listened to
Land Speed Record (1981 sst).By that time i was listening to
the first metal and hardcore bands,but i have never listened to
an album containing that much rage before.After i have listened
to Everything falls apart (1982 reflex),Metal circus (1983 sst)
and Zen arcade" (1984 sst) i understood that Husker Du wasn't
just a hardcore band of the 80's ,but for me the greatest band in
the world. So i bought the rest of their discography New day rising
(1985 sst), Flip your wig (1985 warners),Candy apple grey
(1986 warners),Warehouse:Songs and stories (1987 warners) and
The living end (1994 warners),all their albums are great and
unique.In 1997 i decided to create a tribute cd to Husker Du called
Land speed sonic,so i contacted some italian bands,which with
huge enthusiasme and love for this band have made a cover in
theire houner.I think that Bob Mould,Grant Hart and Greg Norton,
are the greatest musicians in the world,not just because their
discography was 20 years ahead,but they have shown a lot of
different ways of playing,and had inspirated many modern rock
bands in the world. This tribute was made to say "thank you" for
the music they have created. Berserk records wants to thank
with big affection the bands who are involved in this project,
Burning Defeat,Punch Line,Tempo Zero,Lomas,Kina,
Cripple Bastards,Sottopressione,Acredine,Shock Treatment and
to all the bands around the world that have made covers of the
Husker Du.
