Having been a DJ since 1991, playing many different styles of music from funk to reggae, house to hip hop in various different venues around the country, DJ N8 aka Nathan North is no stranger to good music and music that makes people dance. A few of the venues and events he has been resident and played at are:- Revolution (Lancaster),Purple Turtle(Oxford), Womad Festival (Morecambe), Warehouse (Lancaster), Elemental (Lancaster), Lancaster Cricket Club, Café Latino (Oxford), Bowland College JSU (Lancaster), Park Hotel (Lancaster), St Martins JSU (Lancaster). Having also done radio shows on stations such as Oxygen FM (Oxford), Diversity FM (Lancaster). He is currently a DJ on www.Diversityfm.co.uk 103.5 FM in the Morecambe Bay Area NW UK and web radio www.voguefm.co.uk Sundays 5-7pm. Having played others music for so long and with an extensive knowledge of funky music DJ N8 decided to have a go himself and in 2005 began seriously experimenting with different sounds. Originally sampling other songs to make new tracks helped him learn how music was put together and he is now making his own totally original music. This year things have really started to take shape DJ N8 has entered remix competitions, where more established artists get budding producers to remix there tracks. Most recently remixing Herbie Hancocks “Rock It”. N8 has some of his music also on Reverbnation ( http://www.reverbnation.com/djn8 ) and has now been asked to collaborate and produce both with up and coming and established artists. These artists are from all over the world and with the help of the internet it is becoming much easier for musicians and artists to work in this way. As well as making solo arrangements DJ N8 is currently working with Kolayah Keevan Wilson( Alabama,US ) and Robert Odell (Detroit,US). These artists cover a variety of different styles from spoken word to soul and Detroit funk.
