When I played some fragments of new songs to my friend Stephan, he didn’t react to the music as I had hoped… Instead, he said that my music sounded “Chinese” - whatever that meant. Zack, reacting to my lamenting, came up with a story about a Chinese girl being separated from her love by unfortunate circumstances. He offered to write some love letters to go with the music. In an email, he said: “It only made me want to get out of America and fall in love with the world, in all its dark secret corners...” The sounds are the sounds of anger, heartbreak, loneliness, hope and hopelessness… and a will to never give up on the one love. Originally, Zack and I had planned to also include a cartoon and self-made sausage (Blood-Wurst) in the CD. That didn’t happen. Also, “A Little Taller Than 6 Feet”, our hip TV show, was never launched. However, the Rave at the Chinese Wall might happen! |
