| hi, my christian name is steven price, but the name changes according to where and whom i'm with. for example, at work i'm scuba, around musician friends i'm steve-o and around an even smaller group i'm dirty kincade. the name may change but the wants, needs, dreams and failures are the same as anybodys. i'm a perfectionist that screws it all up, a true romantic with no one of my own, a loner that needs people, i'm a rebel with out a clue. i'm a giver, i'm a taker. i'm lucky i have the people in my life that i do, they inspire me, support me and love me. what more could any one ask for. i am very simple and i am highly complex.............................don’t shot me, i’m only the dj.....'without music or an intriguing idea, color becomes paller, man becomes callcous, home becomes catacomb and the dead are for a moment motionless"...edgar allan poe...(as told to me by orson wells on the album "tales of mystery and imagination" by the alan parsons project).....let me start by saying i love music, always have.some of my earliest memories are me standing and rocking on the front seat of my parents 1966 chrysler newport listening to the latest tunes on WGH a am station in hampton va.fastforward some forty years later here i am in greensboro nc sitting and rocking in the front seat of my 1986 volvo 240 dl... the more things change....i don't only rock in my front seat but i also rock at WQFS 90.0 fm, an independent college radio station on the beautiful grounds of guilford college in greensboro where i'm a dj. WQFS( rated as the 6 independent college radio in the nation by the princeton review) is great because they let me do my show my way.i'm on friday nights from 8-10 and my show is called "bits & pieces" with the original steve-o, the reason i'm the original steve-o is to distinguish me from that other jackass. anyway i do two one hour themed shows, i don't just play rock though i play many diffrent genres from the 60's-70''s and it's mostley VINYL,i love vinyl and have been collecting it since 1980. i put my show together at my house and carry it to the station in a cardboard box along with a 120 minute cassette tape. thats another aspect of my show, i treat my show as if i'm making a mix tape, very minimal talking-less talk more rock- throw in the odd comedy "bits" with musical "pieces" and there you have it........my public service annoucement-dinosaurs will roam the earth! you can't see them,but you can hear them-every friday night from 8 until 10, the bits and pieces show with the original steve-o brings you the best in 60's and 70's relics. thats friday nights, right here on your only alternative WQFS 90.0 fm | |
