| Why 1/2 AST?We live in a time where people work their asses off and end up in the poor house, answer twenty trivia questions and win a million dollars, and go to work and get blown up by passenger planes. This is a crazy, crazy world. We have athletes that put in one hundred and ten percent and still lose and an underdog team can comeback at any time to beat the best. Does this mean that everyone should give up hope completely? Should everyone sit down, shed a tear and pray that they somehow get chosen for greatness? Why are these dreams of greatness so important to people? These are very perplexing ideas that everyone of us has to deal with in our own way. 1/2 AST has a theory: ************************************************************ *************** Living in Las Vegas you see people that like to gamble. Some say that it is pure luck to win, yet there are professional gamblers who make money on this luck. Is this a career that anyone could get into? I think not. We all need to take a chance sooner or later to see what is going to happen. This is what happened to our happy protagonists in our little scenario. "Let us form a band that has the mentality of a football team, the stamina of a boxer, the grace of an ice dancer, and the charisma of a Dutch prostitute." The band was born. ************************************************************ *************** After years of being in bands and seeing dreams carelessly getting crushed, we saw the chance to try something different. The concept: not to try, minimal effort whenever possible. 110%? You'll be lucky to get a solid twenty five. The secret is to find the people who will believe in this outrageous philosophy and take this foolish approach seriously. This is a mindblowing concept that favors us. No one will get hurt. We have made a pact within the band that as soon as someone starts taking this crap too seriously, the rest of us are throwing in the towel. This will be an interesting experiment. ************************************************************ *************** We are not after fame or fortune. This is not our goal. We want to make a difference to people, make them use their own minds so they can choose to make a better world. We have elements in our live performances and recordings to make people feel good, feel ashamed, and give possible opportunities to take a chance on life to see what is really out there for them. | |
