| Un'altro progetto nato grazie a my space, Andrea e Lorenzo si incontrano in rete, ed è subito feeling, complice il fatto di vivere nella stessa provincia, inizano gli approcci musicali, decisi dalla reciproca stima e dalla curiosità di vedere cosa scaturisce nell'incontro tra due strumenti con 5000 anni di differenza di età.
L'impatto è decisamente accattivante, soppratutto dal vivo, dove il carattere ipnotico degli strumenti, si abbina a gestualità ancestrali, riconducendo a riti esoterici.
Dopo i primi live in streaming a Radio Flash, si esibiscono in una mini performance in piazza San Carlo a Torino per la festa di Ferragosto, la risposta del pubblico e decisamente positiva e stimola ulteriormente i due a focalizzare il progetto.
Nasce MITUMBA, il nome identifica in Africa le balle di vestiti usati che gli occidentali depositano nei cassonetti per la raccolta di beneficenza.
Gli africani, li chiamano " I vestiti dei bianchi morti " dato che per loro è inconcepibile buttare una cosa che si può usare ancora.
Il MITUMBA è una forma di commercio oggi osteggiata dai governi africani, più propensi a farsi invadere per l'ennesima volta, ma dalle produzioni cinesi.
Esiste un bellissimo documentario di Raffaele Brunetti che si intitola così e racconta la storia di una maglietta partendo dal bambino tedesco che la possedeva e seguendola in tutto il suo percorso fino al bambino africano che la riceve per ultimo.
Abbiamo pensato che questo nome evidenzia a pieno le contraddizioni globali che governano la nostra epoca e deciso di farlo nostro.
