About Me |

| I have been playing music, live and in the studio, for myself and others, for 17 years now. I started as a bassist but within the first couple of years I picked up my first guitar. After that there was an explosion of other instruments. It started with the desire to play banjo. Eventually I learned, some better than others, the keys, accordion, wood flute, harmonica, hand drums, and I also learned how to sing. Some of my favorite musical experiences came from some unexpected places. In the past I have worked at my fair share of Renaissance Festivals, and there drum jams are some of the best drum jams I have ever taken part in. Especially the full moon drum circle in one of the many dry river beds in AZ. I would swear that they swayed the whether with the power of drums and singing. Also the annual drum gathering at the Sawannee river in FL is a good one. I've seen a lot of drum jams from the hippies that gather around the hole in the rock at Papago park in Phoenix, to the college kids drum jams in Tempe, AZ., to the random people who collected to drum jam at the 1999-2000 Phish festival in the Florida Everglades, but the Rennie drum jams and the Sawannee river drum jam are nothing short of amazing. Some of my other favorite musical moments include a camping jam with John Marshal on the banjo, Shane Mason on the Acoustic guitar and Myself switching from bass to guitar. People from other surrounding camp sites came and joined us just to listen despite the fact that none of us had ever played together before. Also, a Halloween party that I played at with my brother and three other guys who had never jammed with each other or with my brother and I. We were all swapping instruments and taking turns on the leads. There was no singing, and every note was made up on the spot, but we filled that room with music lovers who couldn't look away. And, last but not least, my favorite musical experiences are anything I did with my brother(Lydian Phildian under my friends list(his real name is Joel)) and a singer/songwriter named Summer Cunningham. All I want to do now is keep the great musical moments coming. |
