About Me

Psalm 69 was an emotionally charged rock band fronted by Judy Hill from 1996 to 1999. Original members were Ruston Vickers on guitar and Chad Rea on drums, Judy on guitar and vocals and several different bassists.

The band recorded it's only cd, Happy Hour - in 1997 and toured the east and west coast. Judy replaced the original line-up with Sean Chadwick (bass) and Daniel Garza (drums) in 1998 and that version of the band went on to win the Virginia Slims "Battle of the Dueling Divas" two years in a row.

Their song "Riding" was used for the Final Doom video game commercial in 1997 and a video for that song was also filmed. They toured the west coast in 1999 before disbanding due to location changes for the members.

Band Members: Members from 1996 to 1999: Judy Hill, Rocky Garza, Chad Rea, Ruston Vickers, Kevin Smith, Chris Elsken, Dave Scott, Piper, Sean Chadwick, Daniel Garza.
Influences: REVIEWS: "Critics Choice...a Dallas band that kicks with aggressive grunge-guitar authority and a poetic potency that reveals the influence of Patti Smith. An easy fit for adventuresome college radio stations, as well as above-ground modern rockers that are looking to discover something new and interesting." - Billboard Magazine, Jan. 11, 1997

"Psalm 69 from Dallas takes the stage fronted by Judy Hill, who has no apparent body fat and kicks ass accordingly. Sexy crazy all muscular pop and Judy's got a voice you can't get enough of. A tight and taut band ready to pop." -Manhattan Mirror, NY/NY March 1997

"Female fronted melancholy power rock music for the seriously deprived whose live shows are a menace to your very existence." - Buzzmonger 'Zine, March 1996

"Psalm 69 plays forceful, moody rock with a keen sense of drama; close your eyes and you might mistake them for Siouxsie & The Banshees." - Jim Santo - Alternative Press, March 1996

"...energetic angst-stomping delivery...a fetish for all things dark and dreamy, and a feisty feminine attitude..." Texas Beat Magazine, March 1996

"...not just catchy rock-jangle, this is music with heavy roots, a woman who has something to say, and the talent to say it with." - Improvijazzation Nation 'Zine (WA), March 1996
