| After recording and Mastering the latest songs for her 6 track album, “Jaded” (2008), 18-year old Ana Vido is ready to take on the music industry in full gear. Her set of new songs prove that she is not willing to settle for less than a hundred percent of herself. “It’s like an anxiety at the back of your mind. If I don’t give it my all, I’m not being genuine to my audience and to myself. I love music; I’m not going to compromise. So far, it’s paid off.” Whether you listen to the soft and intellectual “Hands of a Pharaoh” about fate and control in our lives, the teenage wisdom of “Lost Myself” or even the emotional “Broken Man” about a changed man after war, it is evident that Ana Vido is a well evolved songwriter. “Writing and recording ‘Jaded’ was the most emotional part of this journey to date. If no one else liked that song, it would still be dear to me for the thought and feeling that went into it. Thankfully, one of the great things about being a musician is finding your listeners. Each of my songs is a favourite to somebody I know.” Ana’s style is mostly indie/ alt-rock, however, she believes that the song tells you what it wants to be. Ana uses her powerful instrument, her breath-taking voice, to create a unique melody for a song. Then she develops the lyrics depending on the feeling associated with the song, and last comes guitar and a full band. Whether you hear just her and the simplicity of her guitar or the powerhouse of a full band, there’s no mistaking that Ana feels what she writes. Her talent as a lyricist and singer will push her forward in the music industry as she continues to reach into the hearts of her fans. “As songwriters, we all have a gift to give the world, the gift of meaningful lyrics, heartfelt melodies. But even more so, we can act as a voice for the things that are happening in the world today.
