About Me |
|
| Return To Litany as a group was founded in Thessaloniki, Greece, and has existed under this name since 2001. The original line up underwent several changes over the years and today the group is composed of 6 members on vocals, guitars, wind instruments , drums, synthesizers, piano, flutes, and bass guitar. On many occasions violins and cello have been included by session artists.
In the year 2001 the band acquires its own studio and expands to a 13-member group. During the year 2002 the group participated in the CRF Rock Group Contest and came second after a long and challenging competition of over 100 bands . The band has made a significant number of live performances, especially during the period 2001-2005, the most outstanding being the live performances at Milos, Mesogeios, Aegli and the Port Festival Theater.
The last two years the band has focused on recording new material as well as exploring new styles and genres of music such as Byzantine chants . The more profound influences have been bands such as Pink Floyd, Dead Can Dance, Arcana, and many more.
The band wishes to sign a contract enabling it to record and perform professionally. The demo contains seven of at least twenty songs written to create the long lengthed concept album called 'Window', a work relating music to lyrics and image. The concept has been divided into two separate parts semantically and musically. Part I contains songs and instrumentals of a more atmospheric art rock style. Part II is heavily influenced by choral chants and orchestral music thus proving the bands evolution. Although at first the two parts may seem opposingly different and at stern contrast, the truth is that the initial emotional impact of the two parts has much in common and is of similar quality. 'Window' is about the story of man in relationship to spirituality and the quest of existence.
Hope you have a pleasant hearing and we would be pleased to hear from you.Sincerely
