| DIYAY (pronounced dee-i) is the nickname given to me by my father, who is a descendant of the indigenous southern filipino tribe the mandaya. mandaya, or “inhabitants of the uplands” is the general term referring to the groups who live along the mountain ranges of the province of davao in southern philippines. diyay means little mandaya. though my music is currently not of the ethnic type, i hope it eventually finds me incorporating it on my musical journey.in the meantime, enjoy the tunes on this page and feel free to drop me a comment. | |
