As an only child, Shug was always the center of attention. This natural niche to be in the spotlight was the beginning of a star. Shug experienced a lifestyle that provided a source of motivation for her craft. Her debut CD titled Take It or Leave It is scheduled for release in Spring 2009. It is a project that exposes her as an artist, producer, and lyricist. With a style that is no imitation of any other artist, Shug Texas delivers lyrical content with sustenance. Shug commands the listening ear with the commencement of each track. Her style is definitely distinct and not to be taken without due consideration. The best part of Shug’s music is that it is real life. Through her lyrics, Shug tells a story and brings to life her experiences and shares them with the world. She started out as a member of a group called The Set. The Set generated a buzz for themselves by performing at different venues throughout Beaumont. The Set self produced and distributed their first CD that was self titled “The Set.” Over 4,000 copies of this self-promoted CD were distributed.
