| < > < >I am a Christian father of three teenage girls who all live with me. I guess that makes me a lot blessed and a little nutty. I am a lawyer by day and I love my work. But, just to keep things on an even keel, I have some avocational interests. I have played guitar since I was ten years old. It has preserved my sanity on many occasions. I have played in a fabulous band with a group of friends for the past six years. In my free time (I know what free time?), I like to twist wood up in my shop and have started to build two, arch top mandolins. They are called F-5s. I have posted some current pictures. There came a time, in the not too distant past, that I realized none of us are guaranteed a sunrise tomorrow. Life just became so much sweeter and things which once bothered me seem to pass by the wayside. Is there a difference between chocolate ice cream and cocoa puffs for breakfast? With God in my life, I realize that all things are indeed possible. As I look back on my life, I see many times when there was only one set of footprints in the sand. I truly believe that God's grace has made me a lover of life. My children are truly a blessing to me and I love being their dad. I am thankful for these joys and for the ability to raise these girls and finish projects long over due. This summer, we plan to put some miles on the bikes. My daughter Maggie and I took the motorcycle safety course this summer. I took my first trip to Sandusky for Ohio Bike Week and learned how far the reserve tank will take me...lol..As I get better at this myspace thing, I will post more photos of my projects (and my kids, if they will let me). I would also like to launch a music site so that I can join in the fun with my new friends and share my music and maybe re-record some versions of their songs...just to put a little "tilt" on things. Enjoy life and try to maintain a constant dialog with the Master. Here are some photos of my latest woodworking project. They are F-5 mandolins which are patterned after the Gibson F-5. The necks are made of maple, the tops are engleman spruce and the backs and sides are native cherry. Hoping to finish them up this fall. < > < > |

| I love to play guitar and have ventured into building musical instruments. On the music side, I have been influenced by Michael Bloomfield, Stevie Ray Vaughan,Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Dickie Betts, the Beatles, Keith Richards,the Three KIngs: BB, Albert and Freddie, T-Bone Walker, Carlos Santana, Doc Watson, Bill Monroe and Kenny Baker, Hank Williams, Dan Crary, Tony Rice, Norman Blake, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings,Keb Mo and so many others. On the luthier side, I have been inspired by Leo Fender, Orville Gibson, Roger Siminoff, Robert Benedetto, Paul Reed Smith, William Cumpiano, Arthur Overholtzer and a host of amateur stringed instrument builders that I have had the pleasure to meet in person or in cyber land. | |
