"HIGHWAY" es una banda Bogotana que surge en Septiembre de 2003 como una propuesta que busca rescatar el estilo clásico del heavy metal y el heavy rock de los ochenta, incorporando sonidos contemporáneos. Sus principales influencias son Judas Priest, Motorhead, Warlock, Joan Jett, el trabajo en solitario de Doro Pesch, Manowar y Dio entre otros. "HIGHWAY" está conformada exclusivamente por mujeres, siendo la primera banda profesional colombiana femenina que incursiona en el género. "HIGHWAY" ha participado en diferentes festivales de rock y heavy metal en Bucaramanga, Melgar, Ubate, Sogamoso, Medellín, Ciudad de Andes, Rionegro, Cúcuta y Barranquilla en donde compartió escenario con La Pestilencia; también ha realizado varios conciertos en diferentes puntos de la ciudad de Bogotá. En Enero de 2005 grabó en Ártico Records el primer demo promocional de la banda bajo el título "RAINY DAYS", con tres canciones, dos en español y una en inglés. "HIGHWAY" ha presentado varios cambios en su formación; sin embargo, conserva a Lina de la Parra, bajista de la banda, quien es la fundadora del proyecto. Actualmente se encuentra en la grabación de su primer LP en Ártico Records, bajo la producción de Jorge Holguín, y la cual promete ser una de las mejores producciones colombianas durante el 2007. También se encuentran en la producción del primer video clip promocional de la banda. The principal influences are Judas Priest, Motörhead, Warlock, Joan Jett, the lone work of Doro Pesch, Manowar and Dio amongst others. One of the peculiarities of this group is that it is all composed of women, being the first female Colombian band invading this genre. "HIGHWAY" has participated in different rock and heavy metal festivals and concerts in Colombia and have performed at various venues throughout the cities. In January 2005, they finished recording their first promotional demo at Artico Records with three songs, one in English and two in Spanish. Actually they are recording their new LP with ten songs at Artico Recs, with the production of Jorge Holguín, and producing their first promotional video clip.
