About Me |

| I was born in Cangas do Morrazo (Galicia) in 1983 and I began learnig music in 1993 at the local music school, where I studied Trumpet. In 1998's summer I started to learn Galician Bagpipe (Gaita Galega) and since then I played with some folk and traditional music bands like "Mal de Linguas", "Foula", "Sons E(s)Théreos", "Retel Trío"... performing at some festivals and concerts. I performed too at many piper competitions wining some awards: First Award "País de Sarria" (2003) First Award "Concurso de Maquetas Universidade de Vigo" (2003) First Award “Constantino Bellón” (2004) First Award "Certame de Santiago de Compostela" (2004) First Award "Memorial Ricardo Portela" (2005) First Award "As Mariñas de Betanzos”"(2007) Second Award “ Manuel Villanueva” (2006) Third Award “Manuel Villanueva” (2007) Third Award “Memorial Manuel Texo” (2004) Third Award “Memorial Manuel Texo” (2005) Third Award “Manuel Dopazo” (2007) Third Award “Trophée MacCrimmon” (2007) Fourth Award “Trophée MacCrimmon” (2006) In 2003 I performed as a soloist piper in the spectacle "Gala Noutrora" (Pontevedra) where played too great soloist pipers Anxo Lorenzo, Iván Costa and Xosé Manuel Budiño and also in 2006 I performed in the soloist piper show "cinco gaitas.celta" (Oviedo) with another pipers who played Irish, Scottish and Asturian pipes In 2006 and 2007 I performed at Festival Interceltique de Lorient wining awards at soloist pipers competition MacCrimmon and where I taught a masterclass of Galician Bagpipe. In 2007 I received an honoring as recognition of my path on the part of the Cultural Association O Gato (Vilariño). In 2008 I gave a masterclass of Galician bagpipe in the Llanera's Traditional Music School(Asturias). I have a degree in Music Teaching by Vigo's University and currently I'm studing the Musicology degree in Oviedo's University. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Nacido en Cangas do Morrazo (Galicia) en 1983. Comeza a súa andaina musical en 1993 na Escola de Música Municipal “Mestre Inocentes Camaño” onde cursa estudos de trompeta. No verán de 1998 comeza a aprendizaxe da gaita galega e dende entón forma parte de diversos grupos de música tradicional galega, como “Mal de Linguas”, ou “Foula”, e grupos folk ou de fusión como “Sons E(s)Théreos” e “Rétel Trío”, cos que participa en diversos festivais. Ten participado en certames ou competicións de solistas de gaita e de música tradicional, logrando entre outros os seguintes méritos: 1º Premio Certame “País de Sarria” (2003) 1º Premio "Concurso de Maquetas Universidade de Vigo" (2003) 1º Premio Certame “Constantino Bellón” (2004) 1º Premio "Certame de Santiago de Compostela" (2004) 1º Premio Certame “Memorial Ricardo Portela” (2005) 1º Premio Certame “As Mariñas de Betanzos” (2007) 2º Premio Certame “Manuel Villanueva” (2006) 3º Premio Certame “Manuel Villanueva” (2007) 3º Premio Certame “Memorial Manuel Texo” (2004) 3º Premio Certame “Memorial Manuel Texo” (2005) 3º Premio Certame “Manuel Dopazo” (2007) 3º Premio “Trophée MacCrimmon” (2007) 4º Premio “Trophée MacCrimmon” (2006) Como solista actuou na “Gala Noutrora” (Pontevedra), compartindo escenario con gaiteiros da talla de Anxo Lorenzo, Iván Costa ou Xosé Manuel Budiño, e tamén no espectáculo “cinco gaitas.celta” (Oviedo) xunto a outros solistas de gaitas de Asturias, Escocia e Irlanda. En 2006 e 2007 actuou no “Festival Interceltique de Lorient” (Bretaña) onde, ademais de ser premiado no Trophée MacCrimmon para solistas de gaita de Asturias, Bretaña e Galicia, impartiu a clase maxistral de gaita galega dirixida ao público de dito festival. En 2007 recibiu unha homenaxe como recoñecemento a súa traxectoria por parte da Asociación Cultural O Gato (Vilariño). En 2008 impartiu unha clase maxistral de gaita galega na Escola de Música Tradicional de Llanera (Asturias). Na actualidade é diplomado en “Educación Musical” pola Universidade de Vigo e cursa a licenciatura de “Historia e Ciencias da Música” na Universidade de Oviedo. |
