____Cain Da Breth - the name is in old irish and it came to Damonica in her dream. It means approximately "the song of the two sayings". We prefer calling our musical style an "acoustic doom metal" to being labelled as "celtic folk" or "neofolk". In case you can..t help the urge of using the word "folk" in connection with the band..s music, please be so kind and refer to us as "necrofolk" at least LOL .

____The foundation stones of the band are Damonicas.. own lyrics and music and Samuel Hains.. conviction that she shouldn..t sing only in the shower. And also our friends who asked us to make a gig. The first was in the autumn of 2003 on the mediaeval castle Tocnik. At this point the band was nameless and consisted only of Damonica and Samuel Hain. As the performance was a success, other gigs soon followed. During one of them – in the Spring 2004 – Va--ek has joined the band spontaneously. In Summer 2005 Cain Da Breth – already as a trio – recorded their first demo consisiting of three songs (Moonligt Tune, Black Birds, Moon Reflections) which shows various tints of the band..s music. Jan-Matej Rak, the famous czech guitarist, accepted the invitation for creating the guitar magic on the demo. In Spring 2006 the band..s line-up is completed by Lenka Kavalová on violoncello.
We perform not only on the festivals and solo gigs but also on openings of exhibitions in museums and galleries, on mediaeval fairs, castles and other unusual places.
Currently we have four members and we play usually in Prague and surroundings in pubs and clubs. We also play on various social events and openings of exhibitions in museums and galleries.
