This term is imported from the snooker game in a situation where the player finds himself in a dead end, when the cue ball is obstructed by a corner of the cushion. Through the years it became an expression which is applied in our evereyday lives. Your wife asks if you think she has gained weight? Well you’re in a “sinuca de bico” (angled). Your boss tells you to do something you can’t choose otherwise? “Sinuca de bico”.Music has come to a point where practically everything seems to be no longer a big surprise, and are you a musician? That’s the “sinuca de bico” we find ourselves at.The band blends apparently heterogeneous references as Jackson do pandeiro, Tom Jobim, Sly and the Family stone, Jimi Hendrix, Tamba Trio and vocal groups from the 60’s like The Cariocas, trying to create a particular sound to work with.Originating in the city of Porto Alegre, south of Brazil, the band is formed by acting musicians playing out in the national scenario since early 90’s and together along other projects since 1998. Quem hoje em dia não está numa sinuca de bico? Essa expressão foi criada para definir uma situação onde o jogador de sinuca encontra-se sem saída,bloqueado pelo bico da caçapa e impedido de acertar a bola da vez. Com o tempo,virou uma expressão que aplica-se ao cotidiano. Sua mulher pergunta se você acha que ela engordou? Sinuca de bico. Seu chefe pede pra voçê fazer algo que jamais faria se pudesse escolher?Sinuca de bico. A música chegou a um ponto onde praticamente tudo foi feito, e você é músico? Esta é a "sinuca de bico" que nos encontramos. A banda mescla influências aparentemente heterogêneas como Jackson do pandeiro,Tom Jobim,Sly and the Family stone, Jimi Hendrix,Tamba Trio e grupos vocais dos anos 60,como os Cariocas,criando uma sonoridade particular para o trabalho. Originária de Porto Alegre,é formada por músicos atuantes no cenário nacional desde o início da década de 90 e que vêm tocando juntos em outros trabalhos desde 1998. |
