| Mario Percudani was born in a small town near Lodi, Italy, on the 6th May 1979. He began to play the guitar at the age of seven and by the time he was ten he had already performed before large audiences at local events and tourist resorts. Soon, his passion for American music inspired him to form his first band, Keys of Desire, allowing him to unleash his innate talent for song writing for the very first time. In 1997 Mario founded another band, the Hungryheart, whose numerous performances on the club scene of Northern Italy earned them huge popularity and a gig as the supporting act on tours with well known bands like the Quireboys. Inspired by the Californian bands of the ’80s, the Hungryheart have a very distinctive style: a mixture of hard rock and melodic sounds, particularly the songs written by Mario. Motivated by the very positive response they receive from the public, the band decides to record their first album at the Elfo Studios in Piacenza. Although originally meant for a worldwide launch by the Frontier Records, the album doesn’t materialise until much later and it is eventually released by the FreeMod Productions in 2008. His passion for melodious songs and his admiration for some of the greatest American musical icons like James Taylor, Jackson Brown, The Eagles and CSNY, lead Mario to partake simultaneously in other projects experimenting with unplugged sounds with bands like Silver Horses and Head & Heart by C.J. Cynel. In 1999 he forms the DownTownBlues whose high-impact, high-tech blues-rock style gains instant success and a massive following. This is possibly one of the most thriving times of Mario’s musical career with the band performing an unprecedented number of concerts at some of the best clubs in the country. In 2001 the DownTownBlues record their first demo tape once again at the Elfo Studios, but what is supposed to be a promotional CD of their live performances is instead issued to fans as a record. Thanks to this unintentional album release, Mario is approached by producer-composer Marco Tansini in 2002 and immediately start working together on a record in Italian comprising of five songs, four of which written by Mario. Besides marking the start of a great friendship, this is also the beginning of a new development in the artistic growth of Mario, who can now lean on Tansini’s thirty-year experience in the record industry at national and international level. Mario is also offered to join Tansini’s band as singer and guitarist. The Blueville play a modern blues-rock with a strong jazz and pop influence, they perform at local clubs and blues festivals. Their sound is a highly distinctive mix reminiscent of Steely Dan, Robben Ford and the classic blues singers. After a few changes, the band now includes exceptionally talented musicians like Gianni Grecchi, Paolo “Apollo” Negri and Angelo Roveda. 2006 turns out to be a very important year for Mario, with many significant changes: not only does he begin the production of his second solo album but he also acquires the renowned Italian music publishing company, Tanzan Music, and together with his business partner Paolo Cornalba and Marco Tansini, he immediately starts to work with some of the major record companies. Tanzan Music is currently working on various projects including music albums to be released under the label in 2008 as well as publishing. In September 2007 Mario completes his second solo album at Marco Tansini’s Pacific Studios, which is co-produced by Tansini, recorded and mixed by the latter. In February 2008, at the Sterling Sound of New York, Greg Calbi (James Taylor, Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, etc...) makes the final mastering. The record also includes performances of well-known musicians like Gianni Grecchi, Piero Bassini and Gianni Satta and marks a new beginning in Mario’s musical career. Not yet available at music stores, a preview of some of the songs can be listened to on MySpace. At the moment Mario is working on the Blueville’s first record, Revelation, which is scheduled for release in autumn 2008. All’età di 7 anni inizia a suonare la chitarra e a 10 anni incominciano le prime esibizioni in manifestazioni locali e in villaggi turistici dove suona e canta davanti a platee numerose. Molto presto la passione per la musica americana lo spinge a formare la sua prima band, i "Keys of Desire” ed è anche in questo periodo che scopre la sua anima di compositore. Nel 1997 forma la band “Hungryheart” che si esibisce in moltissimi locali del nord Italia riscuotendo notevole successo e facendo, tra l’altro, da spalla a band del calibro dei Quireboys. Proponendo un genere Hard Rock ispirato alle band californiane degli anni ’80, la formazione si differenzia dalle altre band per la vena melodica dei brani scritti da Mario ed il consenso del pubblico dopo ogni concerto li spinge ad incominciare le registrazioni del loro primo album presso l’Elfo Studio di Piacenza. L’album, che originariamente sarebbe dovuto uscire con distribuzione mondiale Frontiers Records, rimane nel cassetto per diversi anni a causa della “scomparsa” dell’etichetta. Verrà pubblicato nel 2008 per la FreeMood Productions. La vena melodica e la passione per i mostri sacri della musica americana come James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Eagles e CSNY, portano Mario a partecipare parallelamente ad altri progetti musicali acustici come i Silver Horses e gli Head & Heart di C.J. Cynel. Nel 1999 nascono i DownTownBlues. Questo è forse uno dei periodi più ricchi di concerti per Mario e, proponendo un genere Blues Rock molto d’impatto e tecnico, i DownTownBlues riescono facilmente a suonare nei migliori locali della zona e non solo, riscuotendo grandissimo successo e seguito. Nel 2001 registrano un demo sempre presso l’Elfo Studio; quello che doveva essere semplicemente un cd destinato alla promozione live, viene invece distribuito tra gli ammiratori della band. Ed è proprio grazie a questo che nel 2002 Mario viene contattato dal produttore e compositore Marco Tansini ed insieme iniziano subito a collaborare ad un progetto in italiano, un EP di 5 brani di cui 4 scritti da Mario. Al di là della grande amicizia che ne consegue da questa collaborazione, questo è anche l’inizio di una fase di importante crescita artistica per Mario, grazie alla trentennale esperienza di Tansini nel campo discografico, sia italiano che internazionale. Ben presto arriva anche la proposta di entrare a far parte della band di Tansini in qualità cantante/chitarrista. La band, che prenderà poi il nome di Blueville, propone un blues rock evoluto, con influenze jazz e pop ed inizia subito a suonare in molti locali della zona e in alcuni festival blues. Il sound è una miscela talmente particolare da sembrare un mix tra Steely Dan, Robben Ford ed i classici del blues. Dopo alcuni cambiamenti, oggi la formazione annovera eccezionali musicisti come Gianni Grecchi, Paolo “Apollo” Negri e Angelo Roveda. L’anno 2006 è per Mario un anno molto significativo, non solo perché incomincia a lavorare alla produzione del suo secondo album solista, ma anche sotto l’aspetto professionale. Nel Novembre 2006 infatti Mario rileva la Tanzan Music, storica società di edizioni italiana ed insieme al socio Paolo Cornalba ed a Marco Tansini, inizia subito la collaborazione con le più importanti major discografiche. Attualmente la Tanzan Music sta lavorando a diversi progetti che vedranno la luce nel 2008, progetti che la coinvolgono non solo in veste di editore, ma anche di label. Nel Settembre 2007 finiscono le registrazioni del secondo album solista di Mario presso i “Pacific Studios” di Marco Tansini. A Febbraio 2008 viene realizzato il mastering finale da Greg Calbi (James Taylor, Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, etc...) presso il famoso Sterling Sound di New York. L’album, prodotto insieme a Tansini e da lui registrato e mixato e con la partecipazione di musicisti del calibro di Gianni Grecchi, Piero Bassini e Gianni Satta, rappresenta una vera e propria svolta artistica per Mario. Nell’attesa che sia disponibile nei negozi, si può trovare qui nel profilo di MySpace un’anticipazione di alcuni brani.
