Jackie Robinson, the lead singer of the group, is one of Jamaica’s most foremost and versatile singers with a voice range that aptly covers not only reggae but music genres from R & B to Ballads are all in his forte.In the 1970’s, Jackie Robinson launched a solo career and released a reggae version of the Chilites hit, Homely Girl which was a smash hit and followed with his version of Warm and Tender Love, which also received wide acclaim on the reggae scene.Under the Reel Grande label (UK), Jackie released Santa Ain’t Coming Down to Brixton First Choice under his own label Shefenna Sounds. Jackie also entered the Jamaica Festival Song competition with his original song Out of Many One People.Jackie also dabbled in the acting profession and appeared in Superman 3 and 4, Out of Africa, Batman and various television programs and commercials in the UK.In the early 1990’s Jackie relocated to the USA and immediately joined forces with F & D label to churn out songs like Julie on My Mind, Forgot to be Your Lover, Don’t get Hooked on Me.In the new decade, Jackie teamed up with UB40 to record the track Don’t Do the Crime on their Father’s album with other artists like Freddie McGregor, Toots Hibbert, Ken Booth, Bob Andy, Alton Ellis and John Holt.Over the years, Jackie has toured Europe, Canada, the USA and the Caribbean where he worked on Eddie Grant’s live LP. Jackie’s is also a song writer and co-wrote nine of the songs on his latest CD the Power of Love from Bill Campbell’s World Sound stable which is very popular in Brazil especially the track Together As One.Jackie just returned from Brazil and Jamaica where he attended Brent Dowe's funeral and paid tribute to Brent by singing "Lean on Me".
