| Self taught guitarist. Been playing as long as i can remember. My first band, i was about 14 yrs. old, was a James Brown cover band. Then, started a band with some high school friends called MasterPlann. We played cover R&B tunes, this was in the mid 70's. Left them to explore new types of sounds, like rock, hard funk, and fusion. Along the way, played in a bunch of local Wash. D.C. groups. Then was picked up to play with Vaughn Mason & the Crew. (He had a top 10 R&B hit single, Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll in the early 80's). Went on a cross country concert tour, opening up for Sugarhill Gang, The Bar- Kay's, Slave, Rick James & Prince. The Crew decided to start a band of our own called AM/FM. Signed with Brunswick label and released a top 20 single on the R&B charts called YOU ARE THE ONE, in '81. That gave us an east coast tour of small club venues for about 8 months. Then we decided to hit the D.C. Go-Go circuit for awhile. We finally fizzled out. Then i got a real job. Then (after ten years went by) i was invited to finally blow the dust off my funk card, and joined The Clones Of Funk, band out of Annapolis Md. We play locally (Md. & D.C.) and have a loyal fan base. We play Pfunk cover tunes. We love it, as do our fans. It's all about the funk! We are working on original material and have had the honor of working in the studio with the Dr. George Clinton himself, and a few of his surgeons as well, (Dwayne Blackbyrd McKnight, Jerome Rodgers & Eric McFadden). So, with such a new found inspiration, i have developed new offspring of my own. Hope ya like. And remember.....IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FUNK. (fun with a k)
