| Writing the book for soar-and-crash rock, the New York Dolls flashed onto the music scene in a blaze with their glam looks and wild pre-punk sound. After the Dolls were done and only their influences remained, bassist Arthur "Killer" Kane fell into a downward spiral of alcohol abuse leading to attempted suicide.
