When Jason Miller was born with seven fingers on his left hand, his parents immediately knew that he would become a musical master. They forced him to play every day, and with his musical knowledge increasing exponentially, he began writing songs. When Jason met Jamie Tahirkheli in 2002, Jamie had recently returned from his last Samurai mission, and decided to explore his hidden musical abilities. They immediately began collaborating. Meanwhile, all the way in Brazil, Marcelo Sedano was growing up in the wild living only off of his inborn knowledge of musical theory. His senses were extremely heightened resulting in cataclysmic speed and precision on the guitar. When he finally swam to the United States, he was drawn to the musical talents of what had recently become known as The Subtle Way. Tony Rego, in West Philadelphia, was born and raised. The playground was where he spent most of his days. Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys that were up to no good, startin.. makin.. trouble in his neighborhood. He got in one little fight and his mom got scared; she said ..You..re movin.. in with your Auntie and Uncle in Fremont, where you will play drums and bass religiously, and grow an intense beard at the age of sixteen... He then found his musical home ensconced in The Subtle Way: at first as the drummer, but recently as the bassist. Mike Vu established his intense rhythmic abilities at an early age, as he couldn..t stop playing imaginary drums with his chopsticks at the dinner table. He soon was able to afford a real drumset, and became attached to the music of The Subtle Way. He then, moved in for the kill, and managed to become their new drummer. Now, with a fully capable line-up, they quickly started creating a local following in the Bay Area. They have now recorded a full-length album entitled Against Our Own Retreat consisting of songs that encompass the band..s unique sound as a whole.
