VENTANA - Translated from Spanish -"Window = an interval of time during which certain conditions or an opportunity exists" As the night extends and the curtain draws, a thunderous noise emanates from the stage in front of you. Poignant lights from every direction shoot across your face adding to the almost indefinite level of intensity and excitement. Born into existence in the winter of 2004 by John "evl" Sustar, VENTANA was a creation of villainous undertones and murderous inclinations that only a life of degradation and alienation can bring forth. Like a time bomb waiting to explode, like a metal hanger sitting in a fire.......thus is the overall premise of the band that critics have called "A new breed of industrial music that brings out the anger in even the most compassionate." As with most new endeavors, VENTANA had many changes and overhauls, but one thing held true....the music. Consisting of bass player Dave Jares, Sampler/DJ Rick "St1tch" Thomas (MUSHROOMHEAD), VENTANA is nothing short of a group of determined, pissed off musicians whose sole purpose is to concoct a product to make the listener realize that not only are they not alone in the bruises and cuts of every day life, but that there is an escape. From winning the 2006 "Cleveland Scene Music Award" for best Industrial/Goth band, to the mentions, write ups and interviews in numerous local and national publications, VENTANA is making a mark on more than just the "industrial metal" genre....but music as a whole.
