About Me |
|
| Now available on Identity Crisis is a group out of AZ that has been sharpening their teeth in the hip-hop world for six years. As two classically trained musicians, they bring a new perspective to the table with highly experimental beats and nerve numbing rhymes. Seasoned entertainers, they put on high energy shows that anyone, regardless of music preference, will be able to vibe to. Sumatyme (John Summers) and CTX (James Calbert) met in school, but were in two different places musically. John was playing jazz and just getting into hip-hop while James was a percussionist and playing in various rock groups. As they continued to grow musically, they found underground hip-hop and surrounded themselves with raw bass thumping beats and MCs with actual vocabulary. After a few years of refining their own sound, Sumatyme and CTX each released their first recording efforts in the form of solo albums. The two solos were successful locally and inspired the group to focus on their combined efforts. On September 12th, 2007, Identity Crisis released their long awaited album: "The Life n Times of Darnell Jenkins: as told by Sticky & Dicky" The album release party was successful and the album well received. With sales and buzz continuing to grow, the group is focused on the next step. The duo is now constantly in the lab adding to their catalog. Love it or hate Identity Crisis is going to be a main stay in the hip-hop realm for years to come.
