Biografia David Sánchez Badillo, mejor conocido como “Tempo”, es la figura más relevante de la nueva historia de la música latina urbana. Nació en el residencial público Lirios Del Sur en Ponce, Puerto Rico donde se crió con sus dos hermanas menores Jessica y Daimar. En esa ciudad del sur de la Isla, fue a la escuela y estudió por un semestre en la Escuela Libre de Música Juan Morell Campos: desde entonces fue evidente que Tempo tenía el don para el ritmo y la prosa.Sus padres se divorciaron cuando tenía cuatro años y durante la próxima década se crió entre Puerto Rico y Nueva York, alternadamente, viviendo unas veces con su madre y otras con su abuela paterna.La influencia de estos dos mundos se mezcló en el 1989, cuando a los once años Tempo comenzó a integrar a su realidad la de la vida callejera con los ritmos percusivos del Hip Hop.A los 18 años Tempo se mudó a Orlando, Florida, donde grabó música con Ghetto, Tom “MAS” Weisman y varias pandillas callejeras mientras perfeccionaba una mezcla única de Reggaetón y Hip Hop.Animado por DJ Playero y Mexicano, Tempo regresó a Puerto Rico donde levantó una devota fanaticada, ante lo cuales no era un simple artista, sino un líder que compartía su perspectiva con ellos. En ese tiempo, ver a Tempo en vivo era como ver a ídolos como Biggie o Tupac.Con tan sólo 20 años, grabó sus primeros álbumes – “Game Over” y “New Game” – en el estudio de DJ Playero; en estas producciones Tempo se define como un portavoz de los menos privilegiados. En esa época cuando aún no existía la “música latina urbana,” ambas producciones fueron certificadas Oro por la RIAA.La influencia artística y comercial de Tempo queda evidenciada por la exitosa compilación multi-Platino, “Buddha’s Family,” en la que Tempo era el artista principal. La siguiente producción “Tempo Éxitos,” fue una compilación de sus más grandes éxitos. Los álbumes incluyeron colaboraciones importantes con los productores Echo, MAS, Mexicano y DJ Black; con estas producciones se definió el futuro de la música latina urbana.En el 2002, Tempo fue encarcelado acusado – por evidencia puramente circunstancial – de conspirar para distribuir una cantidad absurda de drogas. Este no fue el caso de la vida de un pandillero que tarde o temprano tendría que pagar por sus fechorías sino que los federales usaron a Tempo como chivo expiatorio de sus frustraciones de no poder contener y controlar a los verdaderos pandilleros.Desde su encarcelamiento, el género que Tempo ayudó a crear ha crecido de manera impresionante y ha abierto el camino para estrellas tales como Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderón y Don Omar. Mientras los otros triunfan en el Reggaeton, la estrella de Tempo brilla más aún entre fans, quizás porque su lenguaje es más incisivo, su prosa es verdadera y sincera, su cólera es compartida, su fortaleza de ánimo confirmada, su humanidad olvidada y su corazón siempre abierto a su gente. La empatía mostrada hacia Tempo quedó evidenciada (directamente desde el Palacio de Justicia Federal en San Juan, P.R.) cuando su figura apareció en el CD/DVD Chosen Few “EL Documental.”El resumen de su caso ya fue sometido a la consideración del panel de jueces de la Corte de Apelaciones de Boston. En el primer semestre de 2006 Tempo tomará su lugar legítimo en la cima del estrellato de la música urbana, con toda nuestra ayuda, Tempo estará libre. Biography David Sanchez Badillo, better well-known like “Tempo”, is the most excellent figure of the new history of urban Latin music. He was born in the residential public Irises From the South in Ponce, Puerto Rico where one grew up with his two smaller brothers Jessica and Daimar. In that city of the south of the Island, he went to the school and he studied by a semester in the Free School of Music Juan Morell Fields: since then it was evident that Tempo had the gift for the rate and prosa. Their parents divorced when he was four years old and during the next decade he grew up between Puerto Rico and New York, alternatively, living times with their mother and others with their paternal grandmother. The influence of these two worlds was mixed in the 1989, when to the eleven years Tempo began to integrate to its reality the one of the street life with the percusivos rates of Hip Hop. To the 18 years Tempo it was changed to Orlando, Florida, where it recorded music with street Ghetto, Tom “MAS” Weisman and several gangs while it perfected a unique mixture of Reggaetón and Hip Hop. Animated by DJ Mexican Playero and, Tempo returned to Puerto Rico where fanaticada raised a devotee one, before as she was not a simple artist, but a leader whom its perspective with them shared. In that time, to see live Tempo was like seeing ídolos like Biggie or Tupac. With only 20 years, it recorded his first albums - “Game Over” and “New Game” - in the study of DJ Playero; in these productions Tempo it is defined as a spokesman of less the most privileged. At that time when not yet “urban Latin music existed,” both certified productions were Gold by the RIAA. The artistic and commercial influence of Tempo is demonstrated by the successful multi-Platinum compilation, “Buddha' s Family,” in which Tempo was the main artist. The following production “Tempo Successes,” was a compilation of his greater successes. The albums included important collaborations with producers echo, MAS, Mexican and DJ Black; with these productions it was defined the future of urban Latin music. In the 2002, Tempo was jailed accused - by purely circumstantial evidence - to conspire to distribute an absurd amount of drugs. This it was not the case of the life of a gang member whom sooner or later it would have to pay by his misdeeds but the federals used to Tempo as I inform expiatorio of its frustrations of not being able to contain and to control the true gang members. From its imprisonment, the sort that Tempo helped to create has grown of impressive way and has abierto to the way for stars such as Daddy Yankee system, Tego Calderón and Don Omar. While the other prevail in the Reggaeton, the star of Tempo shines still more between fans perhaps, because its language is more incisive, his prosa is true and sincere, its rage is shared, its strength of confirmed spirit, its forgotten humanity and its heart always abierto to its people. The empathy shown towards Tempo was demonstrated (directly from the Palace of Federal Justice in San Juan, P.R.) when its figure appeared in the CD/DVD Chosen Few “the Documentary one.” The summary of its case already was put under the consideration of the panel of judges of the Court of Appeals of Boston.
