| I’m starting over, as a widow, as if I’m 18 for the first time. First time in my life I’ve not been loaded with responsibilites, child rearing, man-handling, invalid mom caregiving, etc. Like it or not---I’m alone. I’m an artist (watercolors, acrylics, oils, sketch), musician (play piano, organ, keyboard, and, recently pennywhistle, plus took violins lessons also). I write stuff (2 screenplays, some novels (3), bunch of short stories, and, some poems. Mostly I have adventures with Nona and sometimes all by myself. Nona and I went to Hollywood recently, you know. They’re gonna’ put me in the movies! ha ha---remains to be seen. I hang out with an incredibly talented bunch of musicians in the NSAI, Columbus, GA, Chapter headed by Nona Christie, our "mini-driver." Go, Minnie! I’m Registrar for the steering committee of Chattahoochee Valley Writers’ Conference. We had an over the top successful conference Sept. 27-29, honoring Carson McCullars and Nunally Johnson, two prolific Columbus, GA writers. I am humbled to have been part of that. We are already hard, (guided by our able leader, John Frandsen, former professor at Auburn Univ.) at work on the 2008 CVWC to be held the last weekend in September, 2008. If you’re a writer and interested, let me know, I’ll put you on our email list. I’ve just completed National Novel Writing Month (NANO) for the third consecutive year. I can’t wait to get underway on my new novel---"Life’s a Hoot When You Kill the Bitch - or, Why I Joined a Rock Band at Age 65."
