| MOnk is a 26 year old Singer-Songwriter from Munich Germany.
He describes his sound himself like: Kurt Cobain and Timbaland in the
boxing ring. Fans are saying that its a “cool, fresh, dark, new sound with
deep honest and hard lyrics embedded in great riffs catchy hooks with
tricky beats and pumping drums.
He is currently finishing his debut album “Damaged Music for Damaged
People” which he is working on now since 2 and half years.
That may seem a long time for an album but considering the fact that
Monk has written, arranged, played, produced, mixed and mastered all
his tracks in his bedroom studio on his own is more then astonishing.
The five songs that are available for free (until the album release) at his
homepage: www.monk-music-monk.com are an impressive preview of
what we can expect of the full LP.
MOnk is an multi instrumentalist:
He plays: Bass, Guitars, Keyboards and sings.
Apart from some Violin, Piano and Guitar lessons he says:
“ I think where I really learned about harmonies and developed a sense
for music was in my early childhood. I grew up surrounded by a lot of classical music.
MOnk used to play in several local cover bands and worked in music
stores.
The last 3 years he completely disappeared from the live scene to build
his own studio, and to produce his own debut album.
Already now he has a great following.
Fans, bloggers and pod casters from all over the world don’t stop writing
great comments and reviews about his music:
