Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / The kiss DRAGON-OFF is a virtual band directed by Pierre De gagné who plays all the instruments (acoustic and electronics) and who sing all the voices, create and arrange all the music... Pierre often invite different artists to complete the arrangements on his music. Violonist François Boucher is one of the regular artist invited on the 2 albums. François also collaborates on the creation of a few songs... DRAGON-OFF is a blend of oriental and occidental styles and the music is create with the principle of multi-tracking witch consist of recording layers of instruments to create a mass of sounds. The same musician can play the guitars, mandolins synths, many voices all at once... Surely, this music can't be play "Live"... But with different accompaniements on the computer, it could be !!! The first album S.O.S. CONSTELLATIONS is a suite of different little pieces all joined together, making a longer piece... If you've heard TUBULAR BELLS (Mike Oldfield), you know what i'm talking about... Based on the hammer dulcimer (or cymbalum), this first album brings you into an inside world such as a little movie in your head... Very pictural music, and every one has it own story... TO BUY the album S.O.S. CONSTELLATIONS on I-Tunes, click below The second album (also available on ITUNES) is based on the same principle of multi-tracking but is not presented as a suite. On each of the songs, there is an instrument featured such as didgeridoo on the main piece BARONG, a buzzing trumpet on MYSTIC CHRIS, an astonishing piano chaos on PIANOCTOBRE, a mountain dulcimer on ELECTRO-JOY and so on. Violin is still present on this second album, also mandolin, lyre and guitars... The voice is also very present and is mostly used as TEXTURAL and instrumental... Some pieces use real language such as spanish, english and indonesian (MARS ATTACK). Some other voices uses invented language mostly ambiant or as abstract sounds... COOL MUSIC DRAGON-OFF HAS A NEW ALBUM ON I-TUNES STORE TO BUY CD ON LINE LE PROJET DRAGON-OFF est basé sur le concept du multi-piste, qui consiste à enregistrer un à un, les différents instruments (qui sont joués par le même musicien) pour créer des textures et des masses sonores... DRAGON-OFF cherche la balance entre instruments acoustiques, électriques et électroniques ainsi que des textures vocales... DRAGON-OFF a à son actif 2 albums: S.O.S.Constellations paru en 1999 (une suite instrumentale galactique acoustique et electronique) où les pièces se suivent dans un ordre chronologique pour créer une plus grande pièce en 2 mouvements de 26m chacune. Si vous connaissez TUBULAR BELLS de (Mike Oldfield) vous comprenez le concept... CLICK ..ON FOR OFFICIAL SITE BARONG, le tout nouvel album paru en 2007 est basé sur le même principe de multi-piste, mais n'est pas présenté sous forme de suite. Sur chacune des pièces est mis en valeur un instrument principal. La pièce BARONG utilise un didgeridoo (instrument aborigène d'Australie), ELECTRO-JOY met en valeur un dulcimer, MYSTIC CHRIS, une trompette étourdissante, PIANOCTOBRE, un piano chaotique créé à partir d'échantillons de recherches universitaires... La voix devenu très présente sur ce deuxième album utilise différentes langues tels l'indonésien (MARS ATTACK), l'espagnol (BARONG) et l'anglais (MYSTIC CHRIS)... mais aussi une langue inventée pour créer des textures vocales plutôt que de donner un sens aux mots chantés...
