We decided it was time to write a little about ourselves in this bio section. Not really sure where to begin, so we will start by sharing some of the basic facts. We are Jersey girls who love music, always have, so therefore we play and create it. Since the age of 4 we began taking classical piano lessons and singing in our church choir. On a wilder side, I’ve seen home videos of us jumping on the couch together, hair flailing, blasting Def Leppard and Bon Jovi on MTV. Those were the days. OF COURSE we had to put an end to such behavior because that would just be completely ridiculous if we STILL did that right? Yeahhh… right. However, our proudest moment has to be the videocassette tape of our own radio station we made on the fly at age 7. Boy, were those songs hits; especially with the grace of Maria’s high-pitched voice. And by grace, I mean Alvin and the Chipmunks. Ok… she is yelling at me for that. Truthfully, mine was a little higher. So if you couldn’t tell, we grew up in a free-spirited environment where artistic expression was always encouraged. We thank our parents for that. We even ventured into the world of acting, landing our first national commercial at the age of 4, later both becoming members of Screen Actor’s Guild. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, we were home-schooled until we moved in 7th grade and went to school for the first time. It wasn’t until our sophomore year in high school when we took on the guitar, and songwriting came naturally. We just sat down one day and wrote our first song called “Gone Too Far Away,” which is a song about how friendships sometimes grow apart. What started out as fun became a true passion of ours, and we knew that we wanted to step out and share our music with the public. We began performing at venues anywhere we could and as much as possible all over New Jersey, New York City, and Pennsylvania.

Ok, so it is obvious that we are identical twins, but to be honest, there are some differences. The most apparent difference is that we are mirror twins. I (Helena) am right-handed and play guitar that way, while Maria is left-handed and plays guitar that way…aka wrong and backwards! I’m just kidding…she’s my little Jimi Hendrix, minus the legendary fame. We also bring slightly disparate characteristics in voice and songwriting. So if you listen closely, you can tell. I will say that the most IMPORTANT difference is the fact that I am 11 minutes older than Maria, which obviously equates to being 11 times wiser, more worldly, and experienced. Though she “claims” to have been “one step ahead of me” with the “bigger plan” to kick me out, I don’t buy it. That basically sums up our differences. For the most part, we are very alike. Having a close connection with each other allows us both to really portray our music because we can tap into each other’s mind. If we’re not consumed in our world of music, you can most likely find us succumbing to our shopping habit, bowling, watching Grey’s Anatomy, or going to concerts.

With all of that said, we have just released our first full-length CD, “Serene.” It’s a collection of all original songs that we wrote together (most likely in our rooms at 2 in the morning).
