About Me |
|
“Rheaume is aiming for the big time, hooky pop with big choruses and her warm voice to provide rich ballast.”Leading the pack of upcoming female artists in Canada is Amanda Rheaume. Hundreds of shows, fans and great stories bring Amanda to life on the entertainment scene. Fronting one of Ottawa’s hottest bands, Amanda has become a staple in the Canadian music industry. Showing determination, courage and strength she brings a high energy, musically rich and diverse show to any audience big or small. In just six tracks, Amanda’s third release If You Never Live (June 2007) presents an evolution, both lyrically and sonically from her other recordings. This organic and emotionally-charged disc rolls from the impassioned single “All That You Are” to the upbeat and bluegrassy “Out of Hiding” to the extremely intimate “You Try” and rock-pop hit “Alone”. Tracked and produced by Ottawa’s Shawn Bradley, If You Never Live shows a much more mature and seasoned Rheaume. “Rheaume's record is tight & full of solid, well-thought-out songs. She sings confidently over catchy alt-rock & acoustic ballads.”CHART ATTACK - Caitlin Crockard Over the last three years Amanda has received critical acclaim from media across the country, opening for bands like The White Stripes, The Trews, Sloan, Jeff Martin and Ani DiFranco to name a few. Her early performing days go as far back as 1999 sharing the stage with veterans Sarah MacLachlan, The Dixie Chicks, and The Indigo Girls at Lilith Fair in Toronto. “To share the stage with these people and connect to their audience is a challenge, and they’ve embraced me. It’s so amazing that such a variety of crowds have taken to my music so well”. Bringing a high octane & energetic, tight & dynamic set, Amanda & her five piece band deliver a wide range of musical flavours including pop-rock, funk, acoustic & even dance! Amanda believes in having fun & demands the crowds’ attention by spreading positive energy & a downright basic love for music & performing. “Rheaume has an undeniably powerful voice that fits perfectly with her self-written material, or any other song she chooses to perform. Like a light switch, Rheaume can go from a bright comforting harmony to a dark hard edge at the crowd's request.”CAPITAL XTRA – Bradley Turcotte Amanda will catch your heart with some of the most powerful ballads written today, and then turn around & knock you out with a balls-to-the-walls rock song. She continues to drive ahead, unwavering with her musical power. Playing to new crowds every week, enjoying all life has to offer, listening, wondering, & working towards bigger & better things.
