Bio by Thomas Goze (New York Waste )Best known as leadguitarplayer&songwriter for Marky Ramone&The Speedkings,Dee Jaywalker started his career as a punkrocker in the late 70's releasing a first single "Tropical Stumble"with Organized Pleasure in 1980. The single immediatly became a radiohit and stayed in the charts for 10 weeks. If Orginazed Pleasure got immediate succes,it's with Definitivos that Dee made his first major break in the Belgian punkscéne. A couple of Definitivos singles later appeared on the famous Bloodstains Compilations,and became classics for punkrock enthusiasts from all over the world.After putting out several records from '80 to '85, Definitivos became The Whydads and released a full album in '88 before calling it quits in '89. From then on, Dee performed with many bands,most notably The Midnight Men,Goldengalaxyjerks and Faroutski - with whom he released a cd and toured in the U.K.Around the same time,Dee Jaywalker started as a side project a rockabillyband wich got-and still has quite a following in Belgium,The Greyhounddogs. In 2004,Devilshitburner Records released 'We're getting closer to the grave each day', a punk/heavy metal/rockabilly tribute to Hank Williams for wich The Greyhounddogs recorded a cover of "Lost highway". In 2001,Dee Jaywalker joined Marky Ramone&The Speedkings who put out a first album on 'No if's And's or But's' on White Jazz Records/JVC Japan The Band did three Euro tours,and released a Live album on Rawk-A-Hula Records in 2002. Thirsty Ear Records released the album 'Legends Bleed' in 2002 and band did a worldtour from 2002 to january 2003. Five 7inches came out from 2002 to the end of 2003,including a split single with Texas Terri.From 2004 on Dee performed as a soloartist,writing&recording his punk'n rollstuff with his threepiece-band. In april 2006 Nicotine Records,an Italian punk&rock'n roll label,Nicotine Records brings out Dee's soloalbum 59 O clock. |
