| .. Since before she could speak, Vanessa Barbee was surrounded by music. Her dad, one of her biggest influences, introduced her to the sounds of classic rock at an early age. At age 12, she picked up the guitar and started writing songs. As her guitar playing and songwriting matured, Vanessa started performing locally in coffee shops, fairs, and various venues in her hometown of Lakeland, FL. She has released two CDs compiling of her original songs; "Chapters" in 2005 and her latest, "Drive" in 2006. Vanessa has had the opportunity of playing on 97 Country and at the 2005 Texas State Fair. Her musical influences include Michelle Branch, Mindy Smith, Patty Griffin, Brandi Carlile, and many more.
