The Divining Rods are the Genuine article. When they take the stage, you can expect to experience all of the emotional spectrum and become a part of the event. The magic is in the simplicity of the sounds being executed in this particular combination of these four individuals with similar backgrounds, lifestyles and influences. All four happen to be accomplished musicians as well. They have been around the sun a few times and researched the streets and the dark side of rock and roll. Chris Newman's lyrics are real life stories, told with conviction. There are so many bands out there, but so few have "IT" - the factor that separates the good from the great. Divining Rods are always great in some way, every time they perform or record. Never predictable, yet traditional in many ways. Their ability to improvise on a moment is sometimes astonishing. It's something you are born with. It can't be imitated. You have to feel it, and be able to project it to the listener.
