| I've done so many different things in my life so far work-wise and hobby-wise, and my interests vary, but they have mainly been in the fields of Music, Entertainment and Public Relations.THESE ARE ONLY A FEW of MY FAVORITE THINGS THAT I DO, and HAVE DONE SO FAR!
* Professional Songwriter, Singer, Musician, Music Publisher.
* Member of ASCAP (American Society for Composers, Authors and Publishers) for over 24 years.
* Former member of the National Academy of Songwriters (NAS), Hollywood, CA - for two years, 1985 and 1986.
* I've done numerous radio and television commercials and jingles, and performed in clubs as a singer, comedienne, and MC. I miss doing stand-up comedy and writing comedy...it is so much fun and so rewarding! I love hearing laughter, and love making people laugh! Performing comedy is more fun than singing!!* I started playing guitar at age 5...self-taught...and it became like another appendage! Drums (not so good at this) and various keyboards came next (not so great, but I can get my ideas across). I've tried violin, too! I'm not well versed with playing keyboards -- I'm dyslexic and the whole thing looks jumbled! But playing the guitar so far, is my favorite and most relaxing instrument of all.
* I've entered various local, state, and national music or songwriting and vocal competitions, and have either Won or Placed in many of these Songwriting and Singing contests on Local, State and National Levels.
* Winner of 3 Billboard Song Contest Awards, 1989.
* Winner of 3 Music City Song Festival Awards in Nashville, 1985.
* Former 1st Runner-up in the MISS AMERICA PRELIMINARY PAGEANT, 1977.
* I've done promotional work, advertising and PR for not only singers and songwriters, but also for authors of books...mostly autobiographical.
* For nearly 16 years, I used to be a Pharmacy Technician, and was also a Sales Associate for various companies.
** I love and enjoy helping others. :-) ** For now, I'm busy promoting musical artists, along with promoting people who are talented in other creative and even spiritual avenues that I believe in. ** Currently, I'm working on "what" to do with the rest of my life. | Since I've lost too many close friends taken by God from this Earth way to soon ~ I value the friendships I have now, and those new ones I'm making along the way - through Myspace. I enjoy exploring new things and learning computer graphics and web designing - computer games - and electronic jigsaw puzzles. I also enjoy meeting new people - "musical people", and HELPING others when I can. When time allows, I love and enjoy doing the following: Writing (short stories, manuscripts for novels, poetry, comedy sketches and jokes); Painting, Sketching, Wood Burning, Re-finishing Furniture; Digital Photography; Astronomy (I love looking at the stars and want a Meade Telescope!); Reading a good book; Listening to and Playing Music; Playing Guitars, Keyboards, Drums; Dancing; Entertaining and Performing; love writing comedic sketches and doing impersonations (that is...when I used to do Stand Up Comedy; going to Comedy Clubs; Collecting Autographs, Autographed Photos and Memorabilia of varying kinds---from Musical to Historical and Sports related pieces. I'd like to meet:~ THE WOMAN OF MY DREAMS!! ~ I'd LOVE to FINALLY meet my 'SOULMATE' ~ *whoever* SHE may be!! I know she's out there *somewhere*, and I'm wondering *WHO* she IS! God knows how I pray that He brings her into my life (and soon). I can't wait for that day to meet her!{ CÉLINE DION } I've seen her in concert a couple times and she's absolutely breathtaking to see "live" as a singer and performer! Her brother Michel and I sat together front row during one of her concerts in 1998! I'd REALLY love to hang out with her for a while and knock out some great songs for her. Patrick Swayze and I 'Dirty Danced' a lot at one of his cast parties late one night, and we ate a variety of good food and had a couple beers which he bought me to get me to loosen up a bit so I could dance better! HA! It worked!! What a great night for me to remember! I also was so honored that Patrick asked me to hear a new song he wrote and sang entitled, "She's Like The Wind", which eventually ended up in the film "DIRTY DANCING" and became a hit for him! ~ Thank you Patrick ~ Thanks for the DANCE lessons. ~ I LOVE you Buddy! Books:I love to read ~ when I can find the time. Mostly, I read philosophical and inspirational works, and autobiographical or biographies, plus various books on self help, healing and of metaphysical nature. Heroes:MARY KROPINAK - You have been my BEST friend for nearly 8 years now (as of the Thanksgiving 2000). What a blessing that day was for me. How many "thanks" I give. I am so grateful for you, Mar. ~ We have been through a hell of lot together through the the years. ~ You helped save my life - when no one else seemed to care.
