| Frontman, oprichter en componist van de rockformatie "DeeZeL", Dirk Merket, is geen onbekende in muziekkringen. Hij maakte furore in verscheidene groepen waarvan de bekendste MAYA met o.a. Mark Verhaegen (latere bassist Fandango), Walter Mets (latere drummer van o.a.Soulsister, The Radios en Clousseau), Remo Martuffi (F. Glorieux), enz. Omdat zijn hart echter uitging naar het brengen eigen nummers en daar bij “MAYA” geen ruimte voor was, richtte Dirk een eigen band op: “AVEC”. Deze band werd al snel opgemerkt door Peter Vanderhallen (manager van “The Confetti’s”), en onder diens management werd er een eerste single uitgebracht, "Dancin' Freaks", die het zeker niet onaardig heeft gedaan. Tijdens een nieuwjaarsfeestje ontmoette hij bassist Marc Verhaegen terug en tussen pot en pint ontstond het idee voor "DeeZeL". Dirk mag de drijvende kracht van "DeeZeL" genoemd worden. Zoals hij zelf zegt: "DeeZeL" is 'mijne kleine' en ik wil iedereen ervan mee laten genieten, zowel op als rond het podium."DeeZeL's" “The leader of the pack” Dirk Merket laat u genieten van zijn talent als zanger, muzikant en vooral als 'songwriter'.(ook voor andere artiesten) Samen met Jack Kools (toetsenman van Deezel) brengen zij ook een akkoestische set,onder de naam DEEZEL LIGHT bestannde uit eigen nummers, gekende covers en meezingers ..... geschickt voor recepties, ambiance in caféoptredens enz ... zie www.myspace.com/deezellight !!! Dirk Merket is a songwriter/musician/singer from Belgium. Some years ago he released his first single "Dancin' Freaks" (with his band "Avec") and did quite well !! Dirk has been writing songs ever since and plays together with Jack Kools, a keyboardplayer from Holland, and perform as "DEEZEL". They also do accoustic gigs together (chech out : www.myspace.com/Deezellight) as "DEEZEL LIGHT". Now in co-operation with producer Tom De Clercq, who has taken "Deezel" under his wings, they hope to plant a new deal very soon!! |
