| In a day and age when most music is synthesized and full of vulgarity, there is a light shining in and around the world. “Cavanah a singer dedicated to Funk, Rock and Soul. Born Lenore Irvin July 1970 in the heart of North Philadelphia Soul, Cavanah is the daughter of “Philly Soul’s” living legend, Bobby Love. And here is where it all began for this young musical prodigy. Even as a little girl, she watched and understood all the ups and downs of the music business her father went through during his career. The School Boys, The Ballads, and Free Sprit were just some of the many groups and band member changes she learned her father had gone through. Free Spirit was her favorite! Her father Bobby Love started the group and wrote the theme song, “I’m Gonna Love You” for the Philadelphia 76’ers. Some of her many musical influences are Honey Bee’s, a North Philly female group, a spin off from Free Spirit, and the Three Degrees. Although her father molded her vocal technique and stage presence, like most singers she began her singing career in the “Church”. And there’s nothing more comforting than music that touches the soul.” Throughout her continuous journey for the truth, she became heavily influenced by "Uncle Jam" himself, George Clinton. Cavanah believes the funk encompasses all genres of music.Before her career began as C A V A N A H, she has been since 1994 a political activist surrounding the issues of HIV/AIDS in America through education, prevention and awareness. Providing love, hope, support and self empowerment to those persons infected and affected by this disease primarily in the African American community young and old. Her years of experience as health care provider and counselor, together with her artistry in music with her record label Elevated Peace Music Group (EPMG) C A V A N A H will continue her quest for change and the removal of the negative stigma associated with this disease that often plaques our communities.C A V A N A H is currently recording her self debut album and other projects such as Polk Village Recordings new single "In Your Eyes" which is already receiving great reviews from DJ's and Producers, such as Benji Candelario, Gene Farris, Charles Feelgood, Bobby & Steve, Aaron Ross, Marques Wyatt, Ricky Stone and The Scumfrog. Also previously released on Promo Only for Europe, this new release will include an awesome remix by Mustafa with edits by Benji Candelario, a dub as well as an instrumental.
