| 2008 is the year in which it will happen! I'm going to go for it, promoting European music here in the USA. My name is Marcel (family & friends often call me Mars). I am born and raised in the Netherlands. In 2002 I moved to the USA (Albuquerque), however I am still a Dutch citizen. My wife Jill and our daughter Saskia are both American. In Spring 2004 I did a presentation here in the USA and asked people to name 3 artists and or bands from Europe. Of course there was a catch: they couldn't be British nor Irish. Most people could only come up with composers like Bach and Beethoven. Only 2 or 3 artists/bands could be mentioned. With all the great music in Europe it's high time that America gets introduced to European music. I will promote European artists and bands here in the USA. Greetings, Marcel (a.k.a. Only European artists and bands {and some things that might be helpful (I haven't checked them out thoroughly though so dealing with them is at your own risk)} will be accepted as a MySpace friend. My Top 40 Friend list is set at "Randomize" so it will change every time you visit this page. As I don't own the copyright of songs, I won't post any songs here unless I have written permission from the artist/band. Next to that I became aware that I can't even post certain songs due to copyright, not even with permission of the artist/band, unless the artist/band is unsigned. The songs posted on this site are posted after I got written permission from the artists. Look under "influences" on this page for the play list. Of course you can't download or add songs from this site. If you would like to hear some more great European music, I advise you to check out the MySpace sites of my MySpace friends. I can assure you that you will be pleasantly surprised about the high quality of their music.****************************************************** *************For the moment the url www.europausamusic.com will be re-directed to this page. Later I might change this.******************************************************* ************If you want me to place your song in my music player, please send me a message or leave me a comment in which you state that you give me permission to add your song. This as I don't want to violate any copyrights. As one song was already blocked by MySpace due to copyright violations (even though I had in writing from the artist that I could use it) I need to be extra careful. Unsigned artists/band get priority, as no record company can claim copyright. MySpace gave me room for 6 songs. After you sent me a message/comment I will sent you my e-mail address you can send your mp3-file to in a message. If the mp3-file is not too big (I do have highspeed internet though), I can also promote it differentlly if I you give permission. This goes for all (both signed & unsigned) artists/bands. Just let me know what you want.
