About Me
BIOGRAPHY Sick from Italy, Lapsus officially formed in 2005: guys blended American Bay Area Thrash and European Swedish Melodic Death Metal under the influence of the most important bands, they found and made melody and power with great attitude and passion. Lapsus music rapresents many different standpoints and influences of the five members. In 2005 Lapsus released demo-cd ‘New Prologue’, totally self-produced recorded in MusicLab Studio (Turin, Ita) that contains three songs. One year later Lapsus released single-cd ‘Ancestry’, produced and recorded in FusixStudio (Turin, Ita) that contains a single song, a video clip and material about the band. Lapsus’ work received good review from many Italian Webzines and Italian Megazines. Contemporaney the five guys worked on the song-writing to record a lot of tracks for their first album ‘Moments Of Aberration’, that will contains songs from ‘New Prologue’, ‘Ancestry’ and others songs. At the moment Lapsus is recording ‘Moments of aberration’ in FusixStudio and they plans to crush their music in more Northen Italian Clubs awakening the interest from the underground metal scene. Lapsus has had the opportunity to play with many important bands; Lapsus’ book contains different experience, including the partecipation at Gods Of Metal 2007. Band is Saoshyant, vocals, Mazi & Stefcyo, distorsions, Gargia, bass, Moon, drums PRESS view other reviews From Pivotal Alliance Hmmm. Not every Italian metal band sounds like Lacuna Coil. Who knew? With their one song demo, Ancestry, Lapsus eschew goth for accessible melodic death. In that regard, they don’t bring anything new to the table. The all-too-familiar melodic thrash riffs with slithery lead lines, crunchy rhythms, and screamed verses/sung choruses appear – although admittedly well-done – here in spades. However, they may have found a diamond in the rough with vocalist Saoshyant, who is just all over the place. Pretty much every extreme vocal style is utilized, from high screams and demonic growls to a gruff singing voice that wouldn’t seem out of place in the Bay Area. Oh yeah, and clean vocals, he does those too. Combine his range with his slightly schizophrenic delivery which often switches mid-syllable and you have an interesting take on the melodic death sound. Unfortunately, hearing all that in one four-minute song can be a bit overwhelming and a little focus would have helped instead allowing him to use his range over the course of an entire album. Really, the only real problem is that at one song, the demo is just too short, keeping the listener from being exposed to all the band has to offer. But if Ancestry is any indication, Lapsus might be a band worth keeping an eye out for.
