My name is Stian Olsen. I am a drummer for nearly 15 years. Through most of my career I was the drummer of world wide critically acclaimed indie rock band Beezewax from Norway. With 5 albums recorded and tours all over the world this was a very good place to be and to grow as a musician. I have recently spent 2 years in Barcelona Spain with a project called Junior Mackenzie where I was lucky enough to play with spanish songwriter Juan(Melon Boy)Fortea and with brazilian bass player Edu Filomeno(from the Maybes/Ludov). This resulted in the recording of an album critically acclaimed by Fabio Masari in Brazil.I play a 1964 Gretsch drumkit tangerine sparkle.People that Inspire : J.Mascis , Jimmy Hendrix , Levon Helm , Joseph ..zigaboo..Modeliste , Max Weinberg , Mitch Mitchell , Art Blakey , Nina Simone, Betty Davis, Sly Stone, Billy Holiday , Otis Redding, Glen Kotche , Charles Mingus, Cindy Blackman, Elvin Jones, Tom Jobim , Elis Regina, Joâo Gilberto, Tom Petty , Neil Young , Mike Farris, Elliot Smith, John Frusciante. The best inspiration are good songwriters , and what moves more than to hear a great drummer is to hear an even greater guitar solo.
