Our First Lady Minister Saundra Elaine Montgomery

They say behind every great man is a great woman. Well, Saundra Elaine Montgomery is not just behind him, she's by his side and all around. Saundra co-founded ALC with her husband, Dr. Ed Montgomery. She sings, heads up the women's ministry and gives direction to the dance ministry all while playing an active role in making God's work a reality. An inspiration to both individuals and congregations, she has changed many people's lives. Her influence has reached both churches here in the United States as well as those in Third World countries.

Saundra received the Outstanding First Lady Community Service Award presented by the Miss Black USA Metroplex. She has been featured in Today's Christian Women and Charisma Magazine. Like her husband, she is also a motivational speaker, a songwriter, producer and author in addition to being the director of the Word In Motion Dance Company. As gifted in the kitchen as she is in her walk, Saundra authored the popular cookbook,"Saundra's Kitchen."

Together with her husband, she has been blessed to watch ALC grow from a 31-member church in 1981 to a membership of over 6,000 today, making it one of the fastest growing congregations in Texas. She has been featured in Today's Christian Women and Charisma Magazine.

Saundra Montgomery's biggest accomplishment to date is founding U-WIN in 1982. U-WIN (which stands for "You! Woman In the Now") is the women's ministry arm of Abundant Life Cathedral Church. She is a member of the National Religious Broadcasters and International Congress of Local Churches.
