| The story behind the name is just a coincidence of visual attraction and inspiration. The story behind the music starts several years ago, due to band members’ expressively therapeutic days and nights that took place somewhere around 1999, but took flesh and blood whilst appearing on stage in Greece, during a sunny winter day of 2003 by the name Dementia Praecox. The music sounds like the experiment of gained guitar melodies with touches of minimal melodic patterns and the violin, almost dissonant, embodies anxious ripped phrases within the songs. Tight rhythmic patterns ruled by the bass and drums form the basic spine of the songs. With the aid of the sensual and restless female vocals a vast atmosphere of sound creates and gives to their music a melancholic atmosphere but also a sense of mystery. Formerly known as Garbo and Dementia Praecox shared music and poetry for three years with the Greek indie/alternative audience and decided to head north towards London... After an adventurous year they returned and started performing again as Katrin the Thrill. Greece brought some new opportunities. Having taken place in the Coca Cola Soundwave band contest, the band managed to win a place among the 5 best bands. Since then, Katrin The Thrill have been giving several concerts in order to share their music with you. And they keep on... | |
