| RECENSIONE CONCERTO AL THE BLACK BIRD (13/06/2008) di Eugenio Zazzara.
S’inizia intorno alle 11 con i Before Crisis. Sono in attività da alcuni mesi, per quanto non abbiano ancora raggiunto una grande visibilità . Propongono una ricetta a base di una grintosa miscela di hard rock, grunge e stoner, spolverata di tracce noise e core con aromi psichedelici. I numi tutelari sono ben percepibili: si passa dalla nirvaniana fino al midollo ‘This Time’ al riff da Orange Goblin passati all’autolavaggio di ‘Hole’ fino all’intro di ‘Car Driver’ che (ma forse viaggio troppo con la fantasia) mi ricorda addirittura i Red Temple Spirits (!). Il pezzo più interessante è sicuramente ‘Meteor’, che inizia in sordina ma esplode poi potentissimo e, nelle sue alternanze percussionistiche e metalliche, fa davvero pensare all’imminente collisione di una meteora. La cover di ‘Green Machine’ suggella l’ascendenza hommiana della band.
