VIOLET TRIO nasce da un recentissimo progetto di una band interamente al femminile. La pianista siciliana Sade Mangiaracina e la contrabbassista Caterina Palazzi, che vantano una lunga collaborazione nell’ambiente musicale jazzistico romano e non solo, incontrano la batterista Anne Paceo a Parigi nel gennaio 2007 e nasce subito tra loro un notevole feeling musicale. Decidono di iniziare un nuovo progetto di trio interamente al femminile.
Il loro repertorio spazia da composizioni originali dal sapore mediterraneo a pezzi influenzati al jazz nord-europeo, senza tralasciare l’influenza mondo jazzistico moderno americano.
Il trio lavora su un grande interplay e su ostinati ritmici e melodici, propri del jazz funk e drum&bass.
Nel gennaio 2008 il Violet Trio ha effettuato gli Opening dei concerti del tour italiano di Dionne Warwick, esibendosi in prestigiosi teatri italiani, come il Teatro Sistina di Roma, Teatro Delle Palme di Napoli, Teatro Circus Visioni di Pescara.
Nonostante la recentissima formazione del trio, le tre musiciste hanno alle spalle un’intensa attivita’ concertistica e si sono individualmente affermate nel mondo jazzistico gia’ da alcuni anni:

SADE MANGIARACINA si affaccia sulla scena jazzistica italiana come giovane talento del pianoforte,vice una borsa di studio per studiare alla prestigiosa Berklee College Of Music di Boston e ha suonato con artisti quali John Arnold, Fabrizio Bosso.

CATERINA PALAZZI , nonostante la giovane eta’, e’ leader di un quartetto jazz con il quale ha vinto il concorso nazionale “Baronissi jazz 06” e ha suonato in prestigiosi Festival italiani (Lucca jazz Festival 06, Villa Celimontana 2006, Terni jazz Festival 06, Accademia Filarmonica Romana 07 w/Roberto Gatto, Casa del Jazz 2007 w/Greg Burk) .

ANNE PACEO e’ gia’ un’affermata musicista in Francia e non solo, ha vinto il prestigioso concorso “Nuovi talenti” al Montauban Festival e ha collaborato con musicisti del calibro di Rhoda Scott, Rick Margitza, Giovanni Mirabassi, Riccardo Del Fra, Stéphane Belmondo,Remi Vignolo Pierre De Bethmann, Rick Margitza, Gilles Naturel, Emile Parisien, Yaron Herman e molti altri. E' nominata per la migliore batterista europea under 26.

VIOLET TRIO born from a recent project of a entirely female band. The Italian pianist Sade Mangiaracina, from Sicily, and the roman doublebass player Caterina Palazzi, which have had many experiences in jazz music in Italy, in January 2007 they met the drummer Anne Paceo in Paris and immediately was born a musical great feeling.

Their repertoire ranges from original compositions with mediterranean flavor to influences from the north-european jazz and from the american modern jazz. The trio works on a great interplay and on a rhythmic and melodic obstinate from the jazz funk and drum & bass. In January 2008 Violet Trio has opened the concert of the Italian tour of Dionne Warwick, performing in prestigious italian theatres as Teatro Sistina in Rome, Teatro Delle Palme in Naples, Circus Theatre Visions of Pescara. Despite the recent formation of the trio, the three musicians have made many concerts and they are individually established in the jazz world for some years:

SADE MANGIARACINA , from Trapani, is well known as a young italian talent. She won a scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Boston and has performed with artists like John Arnold and Fabrizio Bosso.

CATERINA PALAZZI , from Rome, despite the young age she’s leader of a jazz quartet with whom she won the national competition "Baronissi jazz’06” and she has played in prestigious Italian Festival (Lucca Jazz Festival 06, Villa Celimontana 2006, Terni Jazz Festival 06 , Accademia Filarmonica Romana 07 w / Roberto Gatto, House of Jazz 2007 w / Greg Burk).
