About Me |

mary vélo is a Toronto based music producer & dj. Her love for music first began back in the 80’s when she first discovered Depeche Mode at the age of 7. In 1997 she bought her first guitar which resulted in 2 all-grrl punk bands who released 2 cd’s and played numerous shows including Ladyfest Toronto and Ottawa. While in the riot-grrl scene, she discovered artists such as Le Tigre, Peaches, Gravy Train and Chicks on Speed. This was when her love for electro began! After departing from her last band, she decided to go solo. She bought her first set of Technics and fell in love! In 2006 she started her dj’ing career. In 2007 she started producing her own tracks while remixing others on the side which quickly got great reviews and tons of plays! Some of mary vélo’s work includes remixes of Yelle, Digitalism, CSS & Hearts Revolution…and this is just the beginning!. Currently she is producing tracks and is always on the lookout for new or undiscovered artists waiting to be remixed and be discovered on the dance floor. The future for mary vélo is looking to be quite exciting, with plans of putting out her first 12". Also, she will be relocating to Europe summer of 2008! |
